Lagos, at the edge of the cliffs
Lagos sits on a coast that looks carved by someone with a grudge and good taste. The cliffs at Ponta da Piedade are honey colored, full of arches and grottoes, and the path along the top smells of wild fennel. I took one of the small boats into the caves for a few euros and shot most of a roll with my mouth open.
Mornings were for Meia Praia, barefoot, before the umbrellas. The fish market opens early and is loud in the best way. Evenings were sea bass in the old town, a glass of wine on the walk back, and white walls still holding the warmth of the day. I shot my last roll of film here. Not by choice. The Algarve is very persuasive, and I had packed for a less beautiful coastline.

"One frame a day, from wherever I wake up. The rest of the roll lives on Instagram."
